that's right,

it's the number of coloured pencils i will have come my nineteenth birthday!

i'm not kidding by the way.

ok.. so this is what happens. 

you subscribe, and every month they send you a set of 25 pencils for 20 months, building up 'til you hit the 500 mark.

apparently, the clever people behind the idea reckon a new box of inspiration every 30 days of so is good for the little creative sole within :)

she's an australian artist (who i researched for art!!) heavily influenced by the fashion industry

yesterday, i visited my neighbor, joel, to show him my art works from school because he wasn't able to go to the opening :(

and guess who was there. EMMA SHELDRAKE! yeah, because joel just casually bought five of her works.

joel: "oh hi maddie, this is emma"

maddie: "oh hi"

emma: "hi"

*sees artworks*

maddie: "oh my god! emma sheldrake!? i research you for art! oh my god!!! hello!!"

and then i got to help get more of her works for joel!!!

i got to show her some of my artworks too!

and she liked them! 

THIS ONE WAS HER FAVOURITE!!! LE GASP! XD

gahh! his work is so beautiful

the paintings are so intimate and delicate, and the themes innocence and childhood are ones that really appeal to me. i don't really know why, i think because it's something that doesn't last forever, there's something nostalgic and precious about it that i find quite beautiful.

and the twist of darkness about the work makes me admire it even more!

guess where i went today...

OXLADES BABY!

(finally!)

since school finish i've been dying to draw! but i've been too busy and haven't been near a piece of art paper or pencils or ink or anything since the end of IB visual art! 

so today, i went to oxlades in the valley and bought some canvas paper and ink (it's jade, very pretty!) :D

and voilà!

it's not quite finished, but i'll let you know when it is!
